Chicago – St Patty’s Weekend Celebration
Friday – March 15, 2019
We will depart Louisville this morning and travel to the windy city of Chicago to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Nobody celebrates St. Patty’s Day quite like Chicago. We will arrive in time for lunch (included) at the famous Walnut Room. After lunch, we walk next door to Macy’s for a little retail therapy. This afternoon we visit Navy Pier, an iconic city landmark inspiring discovery and wonder. We will have dinner here (on your own). We will spend the next 2 nights at the Springhill Suites – Marriott. Saturday – March 16, 2019—breakfast buffet included at hotel
Today we will enjoy the perfect introduction to Chicago. Today is a free day to capture Chicago’s iconic sights onboard Big Bus Tours open-top sightseeing buses that grant exceptional views of the city’s most iconic landmarks and attractions. You will have a hop on/ hop off ticket that will include 14 different stops that allow you to discover the highlights and hidden gems of Chicago at your own pace. Immerse yourself in the best of Chicago’s unique cultural highlights. The bus will be able to take you to the best viewing of the Dyeing of the Chicago River green and also the St Patrick’s parade that starts at noon. Other stops include: Adler Planetarium, John Hancock Center & 360 Chicago, Art Institute of Chicago, Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, Shedd Aquarium, Soldier Field, Willis Tower & Skydeck, The Field Museum, Michigan Avenue Bridge & Navy Pier. (admittance fees not included). After our day of exploring, we will visit the Water Tower Place for dinner on your own at Food Life, an urban dining venue with 14 distinctive kitchens that serve food from scratch! B
Sunday – March 17, 2019—breakfast buffet included at hotel
We will have a leisure morning before check out and will arrive back in Louisville late this afternoon. B
