Monday – May 27, 2019
We depart Louisville this morning for our Summer in New England Adventure! We will travel through Cincinnati to Columbus, OH for our lunch break. Our travels will continue on to Carlisle, PA to overnight.
Tuesday – May 28, 2019
Today our travels will take us to Mystic, CT where we will have time for shopping and dinner on the waterfront before checking into our hotel for the evening. B
Wednesday - May 29, 2019—breakfast included at hotel
We will depart the hotel after breakfast and visit The Museum of America and the Sea / Mystic Seaport- the largest maritime museum in the U.S. It is notable for its collection of sailing ships and boats, and for the re-creation of the crafts and fabric of an entire 19th century seafaring village. Lunch is a special treat at the Lobster Hut (on your own). After lunch, we will stop at Plymouth Rock for pictures. Before checking into our hotel, we will make a stop at John F. Kennedy Memorial. We will overnight the next TWO nights at the Red Jacket Beach Resort, a beautiful full-service Cape Cod oceanfront resort on the waters of Nantucket Sound, featuring a beautiful sweep of private ocean beach. This full-service resort and spa has all of the comforts to make your stay memorable, with the bonus of a beautiful oceanfront setting. We have arranged a special dinner for our group at the resort tonight. B, D
Thursday – May 30, 2019
This morning we will take a driving tour of Cape Cod. We will be making stops at TWO lighthouses and will have lunch at Provincetown, MA, before one of the highlights of our tour….the Dolphin Fleet Whale Watching cruise. Spend time with a knowledgeable naturalist that will guide us on an experience that is educational, exciting and exhilarating. Imagine yourself within feet of some of the most graceful, rare mammals in the world. Our journey takes us out to Cape Cod Bay and Stellwagen Bank, a marine sanctuary and one of the primary feeding grounds for Humpback Whales, Finback Whales, Pilot Whales, Mink Whales and the endangered Right Whales. This morning we depart the hotel and travel to the charming city of Portland. We will have lunch upon arriving. After lunch, we will get on board the “Discovery” trolley! Sit back, relax and enjoy a 105-minute, fully-narrated tour of Portland’s diverse history and hidden gems as we travel from city streets to rocky coast. We’ll even make a 30 minute stop at Portland Head Light, Maine’s oldest and most photographed lighthouse. So, don’t forget your camera, as you will see the best of Portland today. A lobster or steak dinner is a special treat tonight at DiMillo’s Floating Restaurant, a true one-of-a-kind dining experiences. We will overnight in Portland, ME. B, D
Saturday -June 1, 2019
We say goodbye to Maine and enter New Hampshire’s breathtaking White Mountains to Franconia Notch State Park, located in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest. Enjoy a ride on the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway—an 80 passenger tram, which makes a quick ascent 2,180 vertical feet to the 4,080 foot summit. On clear days, you can see views of four states and Canada. This afternoon we will visit Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, the standard by which all syrups are judged. We will have a tour, visit the country store and an outdoor Vermont farm-life museum. We will overnight in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont. B
Sunday - June 2, 2019 – breakfast included at hotel
After departing our hotel this morning, we will travel through the Berkshire Mountains before we visit Bennington Museum—Vermont’s Art, History and Innovation, which is home to the largest collection of Grandma Moses paintings in the world. After lunch, we will visit another world famous museum- Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA. We will overnight in New York. B
Monday - June 3, 2019
We will depart the hotel this morning and make our way to Niagara Falls USA. We will have time to view the falls. B Tuesday - June 4, 2019
We will depart this morning and make our way home, arriving early this evening with wonderful memories and new friendships from our Summer Escape to New England. B
