Day 1
We will depart Louisville this morning and travel to Morehead, KY for our morning break. We will continue on to Tamarack-The Best of West Virginia for lunch. Overnight accommodations are in Harrisonburg, VA.
Day 2-3
For the next 2 days we will explore DC with a licensed DC Guide. We will visit the Capitol Visitor Center, White House (picture stop), free time at the Smithsonian's, Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, Memorials, Capitol Tour, Pentagon City Mall, Dinner at the Silver Dinner,an evening tour of the monuments and much more as time allows. We will spend 2 nights in the DC area. 2B, 1D
Day 4
We will spend the morning visiting the Smithsonian's that you missed. We will depart at 12 noon and travel to Mount Vernon. We will have lunch in the Food Court (on your own). After lunch, we will tour one of the nation's most beloved sites, Mount Vernon. Visit the Gardens, Museum, Farm, The Tombs and Historic Trades. Mt. Vernon offers a glimpse into 18th century plantation life through beautiful gardens and grounds honoring George Washington’s legacy and life. We will have a guided tour of the Mansion – Home of George Washington - an American landmark and an enduring tribute to the Father of Our Country, before departing. We will travel back to Harrisonburg, VA to overnight. B
