We depart Louisville this morning for our New England Fall Adventure!! We travel to Pennsylvania where we will overnight.
Sunday – October 7, 2018
We depart this morning and travel to Mystic, Connecticut, where we will overnight. We will have dinner on the waterfront.
Monday – October 8, 2018
This morning we will visit The Museum of America and the Sea / Mystic Seaport—the largest maritime museum in the US. It is notable for its collection of sailing ships and boats, and for the re-creation of the crafts and fabric of an entire 19th-century seafaring village. We will stop for lunch at Lobster Hut (on your own). This afternoon, we will stop at Plymouth Rock for a picture stop. Before checking into our hotel, we make a stop at John F Kennedy Memorial for a picture break. We will overnight the next 2 nights at the Red Jacket Beach Resort, a beautiful full service Cape Cod oceanfront resort on the waters of Nantucket Sound, featuring a beautiful sweep of private ocean beach. This full-service resort and spa has all of the comforts to make your stay memorable, with the bonus of a beautiful oceanfront setting. This evening, we will have an included Sou’Wester Buffet dinner at the Resort.
Tuesday – October 9, 2018
This morning we will travel to Provincetown for shopping. We will also have time for lunch before one of the highlights of this tour….the Dolphin Fleet Whale Watching cruise. Spend time with a knowledgeable naturalist that will guide us on an experience that is educational, exciting and exhilarating. Imagine yourself within feet of some of the most graceful, rare mammals in the world. Our journey takes us out to Cape Cod Bay and Stellwagen Bank, a marine sanctuary and one of the primary feeding grounds for Humpback Whales, Finback Whales, Pilot Whales, Minke Whales and the endangered Right Wales.
Wednesday – October 10, 2018
This morning a step on guide will board our coach for a Boston city tour—to include: The Boston Tea Party, Boston Massacre, Old North Church, Harvard, Cambridge and Boston Common. Our tour will end at Quincy Market where we will have lunch (on our own) and shopping time. Our afternoon travels provide beautiful views of Maine's coastline and the homes of Kennebunkport’s rich and famous. We will take a slow drive by the summer retreat of former President George Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush. Our last stop of the day is at Cape Elizabeth, home of the Portland Head Lighthouse, one of the MOST beautiful lighthouses in the USA. We will overnight in Portland, Maine.
Thursday – October 11, 2018
Another day of beautiful scenery await us as we travel to L L Bean Flagship store, famous for outdoor gear and apparel. This is always a popular stop for men and women!! We will continue on to Rockland for lunch and stop at Owls Head Lighthouse. We will check in late this afternoon at the beautiful Bar Harbor Regency Resort, settled on one of the most beautiful settings in Bar Harbor, residing on the gorgeous Atlantic oceanfront, where we will overnight the next 2 nights. Also, conveniently located at the entrance of Acadia National Park!
Friday – October 12, 2018
Today will be leisure to enjoy the Resort or shopping at the unique shops. For those interested, we will take a shuttle to Acadia National Park – America’s most visited and picturesque National Park. We will enjoy one of the best lobster bakes in the region tonight. (other options available to those that do not want lobster).
Saturday – October 13, 2018
We say goodbye to Maine and enter breathtaking New Hampshire’s White Mountains to Franconia Notch State Park,located in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest. Take a walk through Flume Gorge that has more than 20 waterfalls along its path. Enjoy a ride on the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway--an 80-passenger tram, which makes a quick ascent 2,180 vertical feet to the 4,080 summit. On clear days, you can see views of four states and Canada. We will overnight in Vermont.
Sunday – October 14, 2018
This morning we visit Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, the standard by which all syrups are judged. We will have a tour and tasting, visit the country store and an outdoor Vermont farm life museum. We will continue on to the Norman Rockwell Studios. We will overnight in Syracuse, NY.
Monday – October 15, 2018
We will depart the hotel this morning and travel to Niagara Falls, where we will have an early afternoon arrival. Our hotel is just steps away from the Falls, an amazing location!
Tuesday – October 16, 2018
Our New England Fall Adventure comes to an end today. We have seen so much of this beautiful country of ours this week! We will depart the hotel and travel home arriving early this evening.
